Dear Sallee and Johnathan, My codolences for you on your loss. I wish I'd had the chance to thank your Mother for tollerating me around long enough to get to know your wonderful family. I always enjoyed being with such kind, generous, funny, and caring people. Sallee, I hope you are doing well and still keep that humour sharp as your Daddy's. And I hope that you continue to bless everyone with that wonderful smile of yours. Jonathan, I hope you've come close to reaching the potential that I saw in you the last time we were together. I'm sure by now you've become a man on whom so many depend-hard working and strong as your Dad. I miss Buzzy and I miss your Dad too. For a few years I considered Buzzy to be the funniest person I knew. His quick mind and creativity were boundless. I still wear Joe's three piece cordroy suit but most important I carry a little piece of him in my heart. Without his kindness and wisdom my path would have been quite different. And for sure I would have been less nourished and not nearly as warm if I hadn't had the opportunity to help Grammy Sallee bake her bread on those cold Saturdays back in the Sixties. As I write, I remember the kindness and support of Uncle Mike and Aunt Jackie as well. Your family has touched me deeply in very special ways, so once again, Thank You, Dorothy, for being such a important part in my developing years. I am so happy to have had those special times with you and your wonderful family. Love, Mark LeVasseur

Dear Sallee and Jonathan,
How shocked I was,and how sorry I am to hear about the loss of my dear friend, your mom. My children brought the obituary in the Bangor paper today to my attention. Since the death of my husband,I now live in Belfast near three of my children. Dorothy and I had been keeping in touch over the years, and I had just received a letter from her dated September 9. My fond memories of our good times together will remain with me always. I felt very close to Dot. Her letters and phone calls were filled with so much love and kind words, as if we were family, and we were! She would often mention our relationship as such. My thoughts and prayers are with you at this sad time as are those of my children.
With sincere sympathy,
Aunt Rosie
