Obituary of Leila Freeman Black

Black, Leila Freeman, 93, of St. Petersburg, formerly of Largo, died Wednesday January 23, 2002 at Largo Healthcare Center. A native of Largo, she was a pioneer and a member of the Largo Historical Society. She was a teacher at Harris Elementary School in the early 1930?s and at Lealman Avenue Elementary School in the mid 1940?s. After her career as a teacher, she became a homemaker. She was a long-time member of First United Methodist Church, where she was a member of the Rebecca Circle, the Victory Class and Chapel Fellowship. Survivors include a son, Wiley D. Black, Jr. of St. Petersburg, a granddaughter, Lori Maxon and 2 great grandsons, Adam Maxon and Ryan Maxon, all of Oviedo, Florida.
